The book contains over 47 full colour photographs of insect and rot damage together with simple descriptions of the major features to help identify the particular organism. Some guidance is also provided in the identification of other insects sometimes found in a property together with non-wood destroying rots. Sets of tables in the back of the book show clear comparisons of the identifying features of the different insects and rots; this will be of particular interest to those studying for the timber module of the CSRT qualification.
